PAINTINGS

I have struggled with painting over the years and would like to find the fluency and confidence I have in my drawing. I am not sure if it is the preparation and time element in oil painting or the colour that stifles me. I hope to find a happy medium between the two soon. Here are some of my paintings, most are in private collections. I find it difficult to leave them alone, to finish them, unlike a drawing they seem to hold a conversation, sometimes for several years, until a sale interrupts. A drawing can be momentary or days, then you are thrown out, it is finished. But a large oil painting seems to change in the daily light, mood, and invites me to tamper and converse some more. As Leonardo once said, in Italian: ” a painting is never finished only abandoned”
