Great news, that I have won the Artist Residency Award from Arts Council England for the Portsmouth Cathedral Sept – Dec 2018. I will be locked up in the bell tower for several days a week contemplating loneliness, hermitage and art. Lets see what comes out of that!
A field trip to Florence and Rome! Uffizi was as awesome as ever. A wonderful week of indulgence in the art and architecture of Italy and of course the food and wine.
I hosted a ‘Trump’exhibition at my studio /gallery ‘Atelier’ in Southsea to mark the visit of Donald Trump to the UK on Friday 13th July. A great exhibition of 13 local artists portraits, cartoons and commentary on the POTUS! Trump Punch and Fake 0% Trump Punch was served and all had the best time ‘ever’!
Had a fun day out in London with my daughter Pop at The Picasso 1932 exhibition at Tate Modern.
Annual pilgrimage to The Royal Academy to see the Summer Show: Wow,how and WTF are fair descriptions.
Really enjoyed the All To Human exhibition at Tate Britain. Forgotten just how great the old Tate is. I must go again soon.
My Naivety – Nativity drawing has just won the Osanna Prize and The Bezalel Prize in The Chaiya Art Awards 2018 held in Gallery Oxo on the South Bank London. Exhibition open 28 Mar – 8 April. www.chaiyaartawards.co.uk

Had a great day in Salisbury to visit the Anita Taylor exhibition ‘Witness’ followed by a trip to Trowbridge for conversation at Drawing Projects UK with artist Anita Taylor and artist Deanna Petherbridge author of The Primacy of Drawing.
One of my oil paintings ‘Sometimes’ was been preselected for the John Moores Painting Prize in Liverpool, got to the second stage but returned. Maybe next year. The painting has however just sold to a private collector, so is well, that ends well.
Naivety – Nativity has just be selected for the Chaiya Art Award 2018 and will be on show this April at Gallery@oxo, South Bank London. http://www.chaiyaartawards.co.uk/

The exhibition ‘Naivety’ at The North Wall Gallery in Oxford ended in January. A great success with over 10K footfall and guests travelling t see the show.
What am I up to this year. 2018?
This year starts with four small drawings, Jam Jar series, in a group show ‘Exquisite Garden’ at Here East. London. Home to Gavin Turk’s studio and The House of Fairy Tales. Jan-Feb 2018.
